I eat real food, real meat, real cheese and dairy products. I choose a natural organic lower carb diet. Since becoming D in 2007 I have lost an additional 28 pounds to my goal weight. I lost a lot of weight but it came off very slowly o sr 12 years and it has stayed off. Some of us on DD choose to change the way we eat for life. The problem with quick weight loss is it is difficult to keep it off once you stop the diet. I've never heard of Yoli but it looks like a quick weight loss program. I have more weight to lose and long to get my blood sugars back to the level they were a couple months ago, but right now have no idea how I am going to do this. I again feel powerless and disappointed that the one program that worked great for me in helping me lose 68 lbs is beyond my financial reach and so is most every other program out there that is natural and healthy for you. I am seeking another less expensive avenue to a program similar to the Yoli program, but so far have found nothing within a price range I can afford. My doctor wants to up the Metformin back to where it was, but I do not wish to do this and experience the issues I had before, which were severe. I am truly frustrated and feel like crying, but that certainly won't change my levels. I know you will all say I am not doing the right thing - the blood levels tell the full truth, but I beg to differ because I am truly trying to work hard at maintaining good levels, but nothing I try is working for me. I am at my wits end of what I can do that is different. I will sometimes grab a donut if traveling before breakfast while enroute, which is not a good choice, but on the go it is difficult to grab something perfect, but this happens maybe once or twice a month. I hardly ate anything with sugar or carbs, mostly protein and veggies and I have tried to maintain that since coming off of that diet, but have had birthday cake for family birthdays and pie for a family get together, but not gone over board. I was on a diet program introduced by my doctor called Yoli and for once my blood sugars were in great shape. I walk and try to exercise 3-4 times a week, which is all my schedule allows. I can simply look at food that has sugar or carbs in it and have increased blood sugar levels. My blood sugars are still above normal range most of the time. I am on Glyburide 2 tabs daily and a low dose of Januvia. Backed back down to 500 mg twice daily and that cleared up. I was on 1000 mg of Metformin twice daily, but had major problems with stomach upset and diarrhea. I have struggled to control it despite making good choices and watching sugar and carb intake.
